Many of us have repeatedly called this recent current events a bad movie because of our disbelief that anyone in their right mind would vote for that ticket. Well, I have been doing a lot of research on the issue and have concluded that we have overlooked a HUGE issue. Most of our attacks have been policy based, showing that Palin took earmarks, supported the bridge etc. Although these arguments may be effective, they may only bring us to a close race. So what I researched was the issue of why 67% disapprove of Bush. I found an opening. Follow me over the jump.
Many social conservatives are upset with Bush as well. Yet, we have not tapped into the reasons they are upset with Bush and used this to our advantage to play operation chaos with the social conservative right.
Here is an article from 2006 before Dems won the Senate/House:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/...
The number of conservative Christians with a favorable view of the party has plummeted from 74 percent to 54 percent between 2004 and this year, according to the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press. Evangelicals comprise more than one-third of GOP voters.

"There's a lot of discontentment," said Marvin Olasky, editor of the Christian newsweekly World and a framer of the "compassionate conservative" language used by Bush. "But unfortunately for most conservative evangelicals, there's no alternative."
That doesn't mean the GOP can rest easy. Damage over the past two years could cost Republicans on Nov. 7 if disenchanted evangelical voters stay home. And tensions with a core constituency would muddy the run-up to the 2008 presidential race.
So, it is very possible that many of these value voters stayed home in 2006 because they were disappointed by Bush. Now here is how we pick up the few percentages we may need at the margins. The key is by understanding why these people stayed home and put McCain in a rock in a hard place to go either extreme right and lose votes or lose the evangelical votes.
Evangelicals have hope in Palin because she obviously represents their values. Also, understand that they have been extremely disappointed that Bush did not follow their most extreme agenda for America. They perceived Bush to be a phony.
Kuo, a born-again Christian, said Republicans have failed to fulfill campaign promises to evangelicals, yet have kept Christians on their side by portraying Bush as "pastor-in-chief."
If we want to win this, we have to do two things, make Palin out to be a pawn like Bush and convince them that McCain will make a mockery of the social agenda. McCain has been trying to get by in saying that he will appoint conservative judges and he is pro-life. These views are shared by most conservatives but if we want to win this, we have to put them in a rock in a hard place by saying that McCain is lying about the social agenda just like Bush. McCain knows he will lose votes if he goes to far right. We have to push him to go right or prove to be a liar. In otherwords, we have to make McCain equal Bush for the social conservatives too. We have to again bring up all the things McCain will not do for them and emphasize that they are being used again. Social conservatives already believe that McCain is too liberal, we have remind them of this again. If we do this, then we may be able to win this.
Also when you write blogs on other sites, spread the word that Palin is just being used. In other words, blog everywhere that Palin is just a pawn so that McCain can win. Push hard that McCain is going to float HIS agenda and it is ironic that evangelicals are being used to promote a liberal agenda. I would go even as far as saying that McCain is lying to Palin too and that she does not know that she is being used for a radically liberal agenda. Again instead of attacking Palin in your diaries and blogs, promote the "poor Palin" line of attack and show how she and the evangelicals are being used by McCain and his buddies just like they were with Bush.
